Moree on a Plate's monster raffle is always jam packed with goodies, and this year is proving no exception. Thank you to all the local business houses who have been so generous signing on as sponsors, and donating to our raffle. We are thrilled to announce that the recipients of this year's Moree on a Plate raffle takings is Country Education Foundation Moree and Moree Cancer Support Group. The Country Education Foundation of Australia is a volunteer based committee providing financial assistance and support to local youth to help them achieve their post-school education, training and vocational aspirations. With the cost of rural students accessing education often greater than their urban counterparts, the foundation fundraises and distributes funds to local students, supporting practical educational costs such as textbooks, tools, accommodation, travel and other expenses. The Moree Cancer Support Group is another very worthy local recipient, with a 30 year history. This volunteer group purchases equipment for use in homes of cancer and palliative care patients, as well as generously contributing their time to sit with patients while they receive chemo. We are very proud to be supporting these two great local organisations, both of which also rely on volunteers, and look forward to handing over a good, big cheque after the festival! We are still in the process of sourcing and gathering items for our 2023 raffle, and will be sure to let the community know when tickets go on sale!
